WINDOWS OPEN WIDE book three
by Peter Oram with drawings by Diane Walkey
The first two volumes of the "Windows Open Wide" series of classroom books for the teaching of English to non-English speaking pupils in schools on the continent have been reprinted several times and are continually in demand. The third volume, wich is almost completed and will be going to the printers in the next month or so, has a slightly different format and consists of sixteen chapters of which the reading-texts are miniature biographies of sixteen famous British personalities from past and present times, ranging from Queen Elizabeth I to Jacqueline Dupres, from John Dowland to Eric Clapton. These texts are followed by progressive exercises and practice drills both oral and written, and each chapter introduces a new grammar topic that is always related to living language. The book is also sprinkled with riddles, jokes, quotations etc., giving the whole a lively and user-friendly ambience. For enquiries please email directly to sales@starbornbooks.co.uk

by Paul Steffan Jones
Starborn Books is proud to announce the publication of Paul Steffan Jones' first poetry collection.

"He writes like no one else. Paul Steffan Jones' poems in their squeakily hinged way... smash a poetry-shaped fist through the dull inertia found on ninety-nine percent of bookshops' poetry shelves..." (Peter Knaggs, editor, The Slab)

Our list also includes contemporary fiction, thrillers, travel, humour, autobiography and poetry, and a range of books for education and for young children in general.
